Are you an Iron Heart friend?

Our Iron Heart Friends

We love the life and friendships that we have with the Iron Heart families here at The Compound. Love. Such goodness in this way of life we could have never imagined.

Better still, we have many honorary or “adopted” Iron Hearts near and far, who since we were young have spoken truth to us and build us up. Even now, we have those that continually pour into us so that we might serve our God better. All of these friends are inestimable in our life because the Lord is using them to shape and strengthen our iron hearts.

So, though here you will mostly only see the three Iron Heart families as we do everyday life with each other here at The Compound, keep in mind that we are not an island… Nor do we do not cling to the idea that these few families are our prize for having excellent taste in human beings.

In The Four Loves, C.S. Lewis writes:

“The Friendship is not a reward for our discrimination and good taste in finding one another out. IT is the instrument by which God reveals to each the beauties of all the others. They are no greater than the beauties of a thousand other men; by Friendship God opens our eyes to them. They are, like all beauties, derived from Him, and then, in a good Friendship, increased by Him through the Friendship itself, so that it is His instrument for creating as well as for revealing. At this feast it is He who has spread the board and it is He who has chosen the guests. It is He, we may dare to hope, who sometimes does, and always should, preside. Let us not reckon without our Host.”

Humbly, to Him Who orchestrates all things we give glory for the beauty revealed in others.

Iron Heart, be you near or far, we love you.

There will always be a cup of coffee and adventures waiting for you here at The Compound…
